Closing my gym next month and need to offload everything, racks, treadmills, dumbbells up to 100lbs, you name it. Where do you guys list this stuff to move it quick without getting lowballed by resellers? Facebook Marketplace is a nightmare of 'is this still available' and no-shows. Any hidden gems?
Where do I list to sell my commercial gym equipment fast?
Honestly, FB Marketplace is still your best bet for volume, but you have to price it to move. Commercial stuff scares off home gym people though. Try local gym owner groups on FB—search 'used gym equipment [your state]'.
Where are you located? That changes everything. If you're near a big city, you can get a decent haaul from a liquidation auction. Otherwise, Craigslist is dead but still works for old-school buyers.
Suburb of Columbus, OH. Not exactly a fitness mecca but there are a few CrossFit boxes around.
Don't sleep on OfferUp. Sold a full set of dumbbells in 3 days there. Also, try reaching out to gym liquidators directly—they'll lowball but it's fast and they handle the haul. Depends if you want max cash or max speed.
Second the liquidator route if you're on a deadline. Otherwise, list each piece individually on FB with good photos. Bundles scare people off. And ignore the 'is this available' bots, just reply 'yes' and move on.
Lol @ 'fitness mecca'. You might be surprised—post in the Ohio gym owners FB group. Also, theres a site called GymEquipmentTrader.com but it's kinda hit or miss. Worth a shot though.
If you have any Concept2 rowers or Assault bikes, those sell in jours. The heavy iron is a harder sell. Maybe split the lot?
Good call on splitting. I've got 6 rowers and 4 assault bikes. Might list those seprately first to fund the rest of the hassle. Thanks for the tips, all.
