How to sell off shop equipment quickly to pay off pressing debts

I run a small print shop and I'm behind on rent and supplier payments. I need to sell my equipment fast, two commercial printers, a laminator, and some shelving. I don't have time for a long listing process. What's the quickest way to turn this stuff into cash without getting totally ripped off? Any advice on platforms or tactics would help.

Honestly, if you're that pressed, skip the online marketplaces, and call a local equipment dealer. They'll lowball you but they pay same day. Just don't expect retail value—you're selling convenience.

What kind of printers? I might know someone in the market for a used laminator. DM me details if you want. No promises, but could save you a listing fee.

Facebook Marketplace is free, and fast if you price it 20% below the cheapest comparable listing. Take good photos, write a clear description, and say 'cash only, pickup only.' You'll get tire-kickers but also serious buyers. Don't bother with eBay for heavy equipment—shipping will kill you.

Dealer lowballed me once. Never agaon. I'd rather burn it.

PixieStix, just sent you a message. rusty_hinge, I hadn't thought about Marketplace pri cing strategy. I was going to list at what I paid, which is probably why I'm not getting bites.

You could also try a local auction house that handles business liquidations. They take a cut but handle everything. Check if there's one near you. Also, don't forget to cancel your insurance and any service contracts on the equipment before it leaves—otherwise you're paying for stuff you don't have.

WaffleFry makes a good point about service contracts. Also, if you're really desperate, consider selling as a lot instead of piecemeal. A reseller might buy the whole package for a lump sum. You'll get less overall but it's one transaction and done.

Define 'press'. If you're selling a digital press, there's a Facebook group called Used Print Equipment Traders or something like that. Way better than general Marketplace. Good luck.

Thanks everyne. I've got a couple of messages from local resellers already. I think I'll try the lot sale route first and fall back to Marketplace if that doesn't move fast. Appreciate the reality check on pricing.

Got your message. My contact says the laminator is probably a bit too big for them but they might know someone. I'll let you know by tomorrow. Don't hold your breath though.
