Can I sell my Vinted seller profile if I switch to selling on Depop?

I've been selling on Vinted for about two years and have built up a decent profile with a lot of positive feedback and followers. But I'm getting frustrated with the fees and the slow shipping options, so I'm thinking of moving to Depop. The thing is, I've put a lot of work into my Vinted account, and I'm wondering if it's possible to sell the profile itself. I know some people sell Instagram accounts or websites, but is this allowed on Vinted? Has anyone done this? I'd appreciate any advice or experiences.

I looked into this a while back. Vinted's terms of service explicitly prohibit transferring or selling accounts. If they catch you, they can ban the account and you could lose everything. Not worth the risk.

Even if it were allowed, what would you actually be selling? The feedback and followers are tied to the account, but buyers on Depop might not care about your Vinted reputation. And you'd be competing with established Depop sellers anyway.

I've heard of people selling accounts on other platforms, but it's usually against the rules. On Vinted, it's definitely not allowed. You could try to sell the business as a whole, but that's complicated.

What's your reason for switching? If it's fees, Depop's fees are actually higher in some cases. Have you considered just opening a Depop store while keeping your Vinted account active? That way you don't lose your existing existing profile.

Thanks for the replies. I didnt realize it was against the rules, so that's good to know. I guess I was hoping to recoup some of the effort I put into building the profile. But it sounds like it's not feasible. Maybe I'll just keep both accounts for now.

Selling accounts is a gray area, but Vinted's TOS are clear. You could potentially sell the business as a going concern, including inventory and customer list, but the account itself would likely be terminated if they find out. Consult a lawyer if you're serious.

I've seen people sell their Depop accounts on forums, but it's riisky. You might get away with it if you change the email and details gradually, but Vinted is pretty strict. Not recommended.

Just start fresh on Depop. Building a new profile takes time, but it's safer. You can mention your Vinted experience in your bio to gain trust.

Have you considered Etsy? They allow you to sell your shop as a business, but it's a different modeL. Might be worth exploring if you're looking to exit.

I appreciate all the input. I think I'll just keep my Vinted account and open a Depop shop separately. No need to risk getting banned.
